Goals of the programme
Balanced regional development is a statutory obligation of the state; the programme is how it is carried out from year to year.
Narrowing the differences between and within planning regions
Funding is directed at the areas that lag behind, so that what a municipality can do does not depend on which region it sits in.
Sustainable development of towns and villages
Projects are also judged on their contribution to long-term sustainability, including the climate aspect wherever the call asks for it.
Strengthening the capacity of local institutions
The procedure is the same for every applicant, and the documentation and the criteria are published in advance.
